Hurricane Irene Eye Passes Over Dare County EOC

August 27, 2011  -  6:05 PM EST - 45 minutes ago the eye of the storm passed over the Dare County Emergency Operations Center (Nags Head, NC), and they will weather the second half of the storm through Saturday night.    We have been in touch with the emergency officials and are thankful for the favor of working directly with the Dare County EOC. There are many reports of severe tree damage and flooding throughout but only mild structural damage.  The Christ In Action Assessment Team is currently staged outside of Greensboro, NC, where we will remain until conditions are safe.  Please continue to pray for the people affected and emergency officials who are working long hours.

This video clip shows Dr. Denny Nissley, Executive Director, Christ In Action and Volunteer Mike Wilson of Overflow International (Mobile, AL) testing Christ In Action's 175 kVA generator, currently staged outside of Greensboro, NC.
