A Survivor's Story - Rebuilding Hope

Ronald, his wife, Samantha, and their three girls, Madison (7), Lindsay (5), and Olivia (2), have lived in Salyersville, KY, for 15 years. Their mobile home was thrown by the 160 mph winds and rolled three times into their yard while they were all inside. Despite minor cuts, bruises and injuries, the family is recovering and thankful that they are all still alive.

March 16, 2012 - Christ In Action has deployed to Eastern Kentucky following the 61 confirmed tornadoes that ripped through the Midwest on March 2, 2012. Two of those were EF-3 tornadoes that swiped through the towns of West Liberty and Salyersville, KY, sustaining winds of up to 160 mph.

CIA Assessment Team Begins To Survey Central Kentucky Tornado Aftermath

March 8, 2012 - 8:45 PM EST - Christ In Action's Assessment team arrived to a wet Central Kentucky Thursday morning, March 8, and surveyed several different areas throughout West Liberty, Salyersville, and Prestonsburg. This area was hit by two EF-3 tornados, one being 1 mile wide sweeping 95 miles, and the other 3/4-mile wide sweeping 49 miles, leaving a path of utter destruction, and claiming 12 lives.

Christ In Action Project Leader, Daryl Stoltzfus organized nearly 100 volunteers from the surrounding areas and Virginia into teams that worked in areas of West Earl Township, Manheim Township and Ephrata.

PA Flood Assistance

A work day is planned for tomorrow, Thursday, September 15th to assist those in Lancaster County, PA from 8:30am - 4:00pm and 6:00pm-9:00pm.
