I have been able to see the hand of God at work more than ever before, I am not the guy who can hang around at church all the time, I've found the place God wants me to be, somewhere in "Action"!”  He now serves as CIA's West Coast Operations Director. The Woodruffs continue working with fire survivors today.

The survivors of Hurricane Ike have since tasted of his culinary expertise as John deployed with us to set up our food service. David & Eleanor

David is based in Central Scotland and has been involved with Christ in Action Europe, (K180) for over 4 years. After serving as a police officer in Scotland for almost 5 years, he left the police to become a church youth worker in Falkirk, Scotland.  This led to studying youth work and theology at degree level whilst working with various Christian organizations in Scotland, predominantly as an evangelist, reaching out to young people. David spent 3 years leading an evangelistic late night street team in Glasgow, with input from K180 Director, Rev. Martin Durham.  In 2009, David joined with K180 and Christ in Action on their outreach to Mardi Gras in New Orleans.  During this time, David met Dr. Denny Nissley who, amongst other things, informed him of the Disaster Response side of Christ in Action and invited him to take the FBFR training courses.  After consideration, David felt that with his background in the Police, his work with young people, and his interest in this area, the FBFR training was something that he wanted to pursue.  In May 2011, having completed the FBFR and Chaplaincy training, David was certified/commissioned as a CISM Chaplain through Christ in Action. Over the past few years, David has worked closely with Dr. Denny Nissley to get to the point where David can develop the chaplaincy work in Scotland, particularly in schools, under the banner of Christ in Action Scotland, whilst being an outlet for others to be trained to deploy to future relief efforts with Christ in Action.
