Don and Mary Scro

Don and Mary first heard about Christ in Action at their church, the Bridge Community Church, where Don attended training starting in 2018. He has always had a passion to help those in need and a heart to serve others. So he started volunteering in 2021, and left his roofing job in November, 2024 to deploy with CIA as a volunteer for Hurricane Helene.

During that deployment, God confirmed Don’s calling to join CIA as part of their full-time staff. In September, 2025 he officially started full time! When deployed, Don works as a team lead and helps wherever needed. When not deployed, you’ll find him at the warehouse working on our facilities team, focusing on organizing, repairs and maintenance. Mary plans to join Don at the warehouse helping with office and admin work whenever she can.
