A Survivor's Story - Rebuilding Hope

Ronald, his wife, Samantha, and their three girls, Madison (7), Lindsay (5), and Olivia (2), have lived in Salyersville, KY, for 15 years. Their mobile home was thrown by the 160 mph winds and rolled three times into their yard while they were all inside. Despite minor cuts, bruises and injuries, the family is recovering and thankful that they are all still alive. Christ In Action would like to rebuild a home for the Brown Family. We have teams willing to frame and sheetrock, but we still need teams of plumbers, electricians, and finish carpenters!

On March 2, 2012, an EF-3 tornado tore through 49 miles of Magoffin, Johnson, and Wolfe counties in eastern Kentucky destroying $50 Million worth of businesses, homes and property. . While no lives were lost in Salyersville, this funnel cloud claimed two of the 39 lives lost from the 61 tornadoes spread across 11 states. Christ In Action, partnered with Praise Assembly (Prestonsburg, KY), has been asked by Mayor Pete Shepherd of Salyersville, KY, to join with city and county road crews to assist in cleaning up the city. Christ In Action is pleased to work alongside the people of Salyersville and do what we can to provide assistance and bring hope to these families and communities.
