A Survivor's Story - Rebuilding Hope
Ronald, his wife, Samantha, and their three girls, Madison (7), Lindsay (5), and Olivia (2), have lived in Salyersville, KY, for 15 years. Their mobile home was thrown by the 160 mph winds and rolled three times into their yard while they were all inside. Despite minor cuts, bruises and injuries, the family is recovering and thankful that they are all still alive.

KY Tornadoes Deployment Video Report
March 16, 2012 - Christ In Action has deployed to Eastern Kentucky following the 61 confirmed tornadoes that ripped through the Midwest on March 2, 2012. Two of those were EF-3 tornadoes that swiped through the towns of West Liberty and Salyersville, KY, sustaining winds of up to 160 mph.

CIA Assessment Team Begins To Survey Central Kentucky Tornado Aftermath
March 8, 2012 - 8:45 PM EST - Christ In Action's Assessment team arrived to a wet Central Kentucky Thursday morning, March 8, and surveyed several different areas throughout West Liberty, Salyersville, and Prestonsburg. This area was hit by two EF-3 tornados, one being 1 mile wide sweeping 95 miles, and the other 3/4-mile wide sweeping 49 miles, leaving a path of utter destruction, and claiming 12 lives.

In September of 2011, following Tropical Storms Katia and Lee, the Susquehanna Valley in Pennsylvania saw the worst flooding since Hurricane Agnes in 1972. Christ In Action Project Leader, Daryl Stoltzfus organized nearly 100 volunteers from the surrounding areas and Virginia into teams that worked in areas of West Earl Township, Manheim Township and Ephrata.

Hatteras Island Assessment Continues
September 3, 2011 - 6:30AM EST - Denny & Chris will be boarding a ferry this morning, utilizing the only way to get vehicles to Hatteras Island, off the coast of North Carolina. Only two trips are made to and from the island each day. We hope to continue our assessment of Hatteras Island and connect with local pastors remaining.

Hurricane Irene - Volunteers Needed!
Denny and Bethany were able to assess Hatteras Island from the air with Friendships. Evidence of flooding was visible. At this time only emergency personnel and those with special needs are being transported by ferry since the only road access to the island has been breached in 7 locations.

Hurricane Irene Update
August 31, 2011 - 10:30 PM EST - While Hurricane Irene didn't live up to the media hype, Irene was still a Category 1 Hurricane, packing winds of 90 to 100 mph, when it made landfall in North Carolina. Hurricane Irene killed at least 18 people as it moved from the Caribbean to New England, caused an estimated $3 billion in damage, and cut electric power to more than 6 million homes and businesses across the the eastern U.S.

Hurricane Irene Eye Passes Over Dare County EOC
